The recent Google update in March 2024, dubbed the Core & Spam Update, has brought to light a hidden threat: SpamBrain. This update has significant implications for link devaluation and emphasizes the importance of combating spam. Additionally, Google is testing a "Like" button feature in its Image Search results, suggesting potential changes in user engagement and search experience.
Link devaluation: The hidden threat of SpamBrain
Learn why buying links could be a recipe for disaster as Google tightens its grip on spammy SEO tactics. Sites with spam policy violations were hit with manual actions. Many SEOs are in a state of fear.
This is just the beginning. SpamBrain is just getting started and it’s coming for your links. Link building can only be done in so many ways. For as long as I can remember, links have been referred to be the "money of the web," and they are still important despite what anyone may try to imply.

Google March 2024 Core & Spam Update Movement Today
Google released both the core upgrade and the spam update in March 2024. We think that on March 8 and 9, the core update touched down, and on March 12, there may have been some recoveries or fluctuations. More indications of Google search ranking volatility are now visible to me, most likely as a result of today's core and spam upgrades.
Google did tell us that the core update would have multiple systems within it updated throughout the month's rollout.

Google Image Search Results Testing Like Button
It appears that Google is experimenting with adding a thumbs-up button to image search results. The thumbs-up icon is located beneath the image, description, and visit buttons, and next to the share and save buttons.
