Certain election-related queries may not result in news boxes, such as top stories, appearing in Google Search.

In their posts on X, Will Flannigan and Shalom Goodman stated that this was the first time Google had stopped displaying news bubbles for these kinds of searches. Will and Shalom would know; they are Wall Street Journal SEO employees.
