Google: Crawl Budget Goes Across All Googlebot Crawling, Not Just Web Search
Google considers all Googlebot activity across all verticals when determining the crawl budget and ensuring that Google does not crawl your site excessively or insufficiently. This covers all crawling activities, including searching the web, seeing advertisements, and using the Merchant Centre.
Google's John Mueller was asked by Christian Radny, "Does merchant center crawling (automatic updates) count for crawling budget?"
John Mueller replied, "Sure - it's a load on your server. The goal is to avoid breaking your server through a high load."

Google: Ignore Link Spam Especially To 404 Pages
Google has said that you do not need to disavow spammy links, that you can ignore link spam attacks and that links pointing to pages 404/410 are links that do not count - but John Mueller from Google said it again.
Google's John Mueller said, "If the links are going to URLs that 404 on your site, they're already dropped," in a thread on X. "They do nothing," he continued, "If there's no indexable destination URL, there's no link."
John said, "I'd generally ignore links, and ignore link spam to 404s."

Google Discover: The Ultimate Optimization Guide
For publishers, Google Discover is a particularly significant source of organic traffic. Before users even know what they want to search for, this personalised feed—which is accessible through Google's mobile app and mobile search homepage—offers them an engaging experience by suggesting pertinent material. One of the traffic sources for news websites that are expanding the fastest is Google Discover; according to some publishers, Discover traffic is even larger than traffic from organic searches. You may increase your website's chances of improving its appearance on the platform and expanding your audience by customising your content to match Google's recommendations and user preferences.
